Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 128 breakdown
The British start to invade Savannah in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 128
The British are coming! While that’s a quote for the North, it comes up in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 128.
It’s clear that the British are planning an invasion. Claire works out what’s going on. If the British take the port of Savannah, they have a good way into Georgia and Florida. With the South behind them, the British could really pile on the pressure in the North. Of course, if Claire fully knew the American Revolution’s history, she would know that Savannah was taken by the British.
However, that’s not the most important part of this chapter. It’s that General Howe and (now Colonel) Richardson turn up to get Jamie back with the Continental Army. Jamie refuses to return. Howe tries his hardest, but Jamie doesn’t budge.
There is some foreshadowing in the discussion about Richardson switching sides. Has he really switched or is he playing double agent? I think we also get some foreshadowing of the storyline for Ben, and I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.
Will the chapter be used in the TV series? Possibly, but we could also be told about this instead of shown it. I’ll get to that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 128.
