Claire dealt with another loss in Outlander Season 7, Episode 3. Here are the best three Claire moments from the whole episode.
Outlander Season 7 seems to have been one loss after another. “Death Be Not Proud” certainly brought a major loss: the loss of the Big House.
We saw the explosion at the end of the previous episode. Well, the third episode picked up just before the explosion as we saw how it all happened. We saw how Jamie managed to get the Bugs and Claire out of the house before Donner collapsed and dropped the match on the ether.
It was time for what it would mean moving forward. They certainly brought more loss and heartbreak.
3 top Claire moments from Outlander Season 7, Episode 3
This list is in order of things happening in the episode, as usual. It’s just too hard to rank them.
1. Helping Young Ian through his guilt
Young Ian was responsible for Murdina Bug’s death. Okay, she was responsible by being at the house’s rubble in the middle of the night, but Young Ian shot and asked questions later. He felt so much guilt for that when he realized it was Murdina and not Arch.
Claire was the one to help him with this. While it doesn’t change the way Ian feels immediately, she is still there for him despite everything that she has lost. She knows that he needs her words of advice.
2. Singing at the funeral
Arch wanted his wife to have the proper observances at her funeral. That led to him asking Claire to sing. You could see the shock on her face, and she wanted to argue against it. She’s not a singer, and she may have worried that she didn’t know a song to sing.
However, she couldn’t say no. Ian was responsible for Murdina’s death, and she felt some of that weight. At the same time, Murdina was still like family to her. Despite everything with the gold, this woman was still someone important and the loss was hard. So, she sang Ava Maria in the procession.
3. Finding Adso
At one point in the episode, Lizzie and Josiah Beardsley tell Claire that they couldn’t find Adso. He was nowhere near the house, and it was clear they feared he had perished in the fire. I think we all feared the worst.
Well, while Claire and Jamie leave the Ridge to get Ian back to Scotland, she finds Adso in the woods. This is the moment she completely breaks. The weight of everything that has happened comes crashing down on her, and she fears that they’ll never return to their home. Jamie refuses to believe that and helps set her mind on hope of returning. It just love that it’s finding Adso that allows her to break down.
