2. The house burning down

Okay, no, I don’t like that the Big House went up in flames. What I did love was seeing the whole Ridge come together. There was no way they wouldn’t have seen the flames or heard the explosion, and none of them were going to stay in their own beds that night.

As everyone raced to put the fire out, Jamie and Claire stopped. They watched as their home went up in flames, and soon, Jamie knew that it was too late. The house couldn’t be saved, and there was no point in wasting the water on it. They would need to salvage what they could when it was safe to do so.

1. Hearing the Bugs story

One thing Outlander has skipped over is who the Bugs are. Well, Episode 3 brought us that story. At least, enough of it. We found out who Arch was to the Grants, and we found out where the gold nugget came from. This was a chance to see who the Bugs really were, and where their loyalties lied.

I liked how it all fit in. There were clues to the gold storyline here and there. When we heard Jocasta’s story of coming to the colonies, we knew there was a box of gold involved. Then there was a mention of it in Season 6. These were great Easter eggs for the book fan, which then turned into something for everyone.
