Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter certainly sets up the plot of Fergus and Marsali moving away. They have to.

However, the foreshadowing is in Germain’s story. The boy blames himself, and his parents aren’t really in a state to console him about that. They’re grieving, and as wrong as it can seem to make Germain think that he is at fault, it’s hard to deal with the loss of a child. Especially under the circumstances.

We’re getting seeds of Germain joining Claire and Jamie. They know that it wasn’t Germain’s fault, and they’ll make sure he’s looked after while Marsali and Fergus deal with everything they need to. And yes, Marsali is likely pregnant.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I’m sure we’ll see the chapter used in the TV series. There’s no reason not to have it included, as long as the previous chapter is used.

We may not get all of it. Maybe we won’t get George Sorrel turning up. We may not get the Percy storyline at all, which will negate that. However, I’m sure we’ll get the fire and then we’ll need the wake and to see the community come together. It’s clear that Marsali and Fergus are loved members of their local community.
