Outlander Book 8, Chapter 120 is one of the most heartbreaking moments

It is still absolutely devastating reading Outlander Book 8, Chapter 120. It doesn’t matter how much I know this is going to happen, it hurts.

Claire wakes to the print shop being on fire. She and the family need to get out, but it turns out that not everyone is where they’re supposed to be. We have to read a horrific ending for a character we’ve come to love so much.

And this comes just after the death of Rollo. It’s hard to take one big death per book, let alone two. And this second one is just under such heartbreaking circumstances. It certainly leaves a mark on all the characters in the story. Why wouldn’t it?

This doesn’t foreshadow too much. This moment has been foreshadowed a couple of times. Instead, this is all about plot development as it has a knock-on effect for a couple of characters.

As for whether it will be used in the TV series or not, I suspect it will. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 120.
