We find out why Fergus is thinking of returning in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 112

In the previous chapter, Marsali had thought about why Fergus shouldn’t go back to North Carolina. In Outlander Book 8, Chapter 112, we find out why he’s thinking about it.

Claire heads out to buy fish for supper, which is when she runs into Fergus and Jamie. They have been getting some pricing for getting everyone back to North Carolina. Fergus is called away to help Marsali, which gives Jamie and Claire a chance to talk.

It turns out that Percy is still a threat. He is sure that Fergus is the heir to some great estate. There is certainly a chance that he is the son of Comte St. Germain, but Fergus has no interest in being the heir. The problem is, Germain is now at risk.

This chapter certainly foreshadows a few things to come. It’s setting up a plot that ends up happening for other reasons.

Will it be used in the TV series, though? This is going to depend on whether there are plans to bring Marsali and Fergus back into the story. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 112.
