Buck is getting a new face, but we’ve already met him in Outlander. Now we’ll see him again, but will that be in Outlander Season 7A?

We are so very close to Outlander Season 7A’s premiere. The first eight episodes will air over the summer, and we’ll see some new and returning characters. However, some of the announced characters won’t show up until the second half of the season in 2024.

Buck could be one of those characters. We know that he will appear in Outlander Season 7, although with a different face. In the fifth season, the show brought Graham McTavish into the story to play William Buccleigh MacKenzie, the son of Dougal and Geillis. With the bigger role Buck is set to get and the fact that Dougal is returning, a new actor was cast for the seventh season return.

Will Buck be in Outlander Season 7A?

The question is when we’ll get to see the character. We’re not going to spoil the books in this post. All we’ll say is that Buck comes back in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, the eighth book in the series. He is connected to Dougal and Geillis’s return in the books (and hence, the show).

Will we see it all play out right away? Looking at all the promotion material, we’re not expecting to see Buck in Outlander Season 7A. He wasn’t spotted in the trailer for the season, and he hasn’t been a focus for all the promotional material. That’s been on Adult William and the Hunters, who will be in the first half of the season.

So, it looks like we’ll be waiting until 2024 to see Buck’s return. How will Roger deal with Buck being back?

Outlander Season 7 premieres on Friday, June 16 on STARZ.
