Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter certainly pushes the plot forward. It’s clear that Bree and Roger will be reunited very soon. We’ll also get to see Brianna get to know her grandfather, something that nobody ever thought would be possible.

I don’t see much in the way of foreshadowing in this chapter. I think all the mentions of how Bree looks so much like Ellen has been the foreshadowing leading to this point. Of course Brian was going to hope that he was seeing his deceased wife. What we haven’t heard is how much Jem looks like William, so that part is just even more bittersweet.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I want to see this chapter used in the TV series. We need to see Brianna and Brian meet. After all, Brian is her namesake. Plus, I want to see that moment of Brian thinking that he’s seeing his wife. Jocasta couldn’t see Bree’s face, but there were comments about being like Ellen and it opened up a dialogue between them about her.

Plus, we know Roger and Bree will need to see each other again. There’s no need to change how that happens.
