Just the Outlander chapter

Brianna, Jemmy, and Mandy are through the stones. They are making their way to Lallybroch. That’s the only place Bree knows that Roger has been, and the children aren’t hearing him just yet. She needs to get “home.” The problem is she doesn’t know when she is or who she will meet there.

She has a lot of questions about what could happen. If she meets Jamie now, she won’t meet him in the same way in North Carolina. Can you meet the same person twice without causing problems for the timeline? Surely she must have had a chance to find out what year it is by now, so some of this doesn’t make sense.

Anyway, they get to Lallybroch. Mandy wants a coke, but Jemmy points out that this isn’t their home. There isn’t any coke here, and he tries to keep it light and fun by explaining it’s too cold for coke. Bless him still being the man of the house.

When Jem says that someone with black hair is coming, Bree gets the children to hide in the broch and then goes down the hill to meet the man. It’s Brian Fraser, and he’s in shock to see Bree. He calls her Ellen, and then sees Jem and thinks that this is William, Jamie’s older, deceased brother. My heart breaks for Brian at this point.

Brian faints from the shock. Jem is worried about what’s going on and who the man in. Bree explains to Jem that this is his great-grandfather and has just collapsed in shock. She has to hope that he hasn’t died earlier than he should have.

At the very end, Jem tells Brianna something important. Mandy can hear Roger.
