Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 103 breakdown
Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
I do see some foreshadowing in this chapter. Bree thinks about the dangers of time travel, and she wonders if Fiona should stick around. We’re constantly reminded that a trip through the stones isn’t easy or guaranteed. People don’t go through these stones just for the sake of it.
Well, in Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, we find out that Brianna can no longer travel through the stones. The latest trip in that book has affected her heart. I get a sense of foreshadowing that something like that could happen in this chapter.
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
I would like to see the chapter used in the series. Brianna got a lot of flack in Outlander Season 4 for not being fully prepared for the past. I’d like to see the writers show that she has grown up and has more common sense now when it comes to this.
This chapter is a great way to show that, so I think it will be used. Plus, it makes sense to show preparation instead of just leaving it all to the imagination. It’s not like we haven’t seen preparation before. Just look at Claire with her Batdress.
