Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
The foreshadowing in this chapter is definitely in what Buck will do next. He is intrigued in Geillis. This is a man who has few boundaries and is impulsive. Is it not clear from this point that he will choose to remain with Geillis instead of going back to his own time?
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
I could see the end of the chapter used in the TV series for definite. We need to see Buck learn about his parents; at least, about the crazy things Geillis has done. Outlander Season 7 will eventually see Geillis return, so we know that all of this is bound to play out.
I’m just not sure if the first part of the chapter will be used. It goes back to what I’ve said before about things involving Jerry. While it’s important for Roger’s development in the books—and is also important for book readers—Jerry hasn’t really been a big deal in the TV show. For the sake of time, Jerry’s parts could be cut out.
