Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 102 breakdown
Just the Outlander chapter
The chapter starts with Roger and Buck waking up after being affected by the stones. They weren’t near the stones, but it’s clear that the range of effect is large. I love that we see the effect on time travelers from a distance and wonder how travelers who live close to stones normally will feel when people travel.
Roger is hungry, so the two decide to go in search for food. After that, it’s time to sleep. Roger wishes that he could have met his dad in daylight. He would have liked to get a good look at the man. But at least he got to meet him. Now he wonders where Jerry may have gone. Of course, we know the answer to that.
In the morning, it’s time for Roger and Buck to head back north. Buck points out that Roer still needs to find his son, while Buck wants to head to Cranesmuir. He is more than interested in meeting Geillis.
Roger shares a little about Geillis, which would scare most people. Buck is, instead, even more intrigued. After that, he wants to learn about his father, but Roger points out that it would take more than a few minutes to explain.
They need to leave so they don’t come across any more English.
