It follows Queen Charlotte, who is certainly a controversial character in the series due to Shonda Rhimes’s choice to cast a Black actress in the main series. That’s not up for debate here; we’re focusing on the prequel series and its source material.

The prequel series is set in two timelines. The first is the current Bridgerton timeline, and the second is years before with a young Charlotte meeting a young George and the two falling in love. This is certainly a story worth watching, but is there source material to read?
