Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 99 breakdown

Brianna performs an experiment on her children in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 99

During a previous chapter, Jem mentioned that he could see Roger. Bree decides it’s time to test things for Jem and Mandy in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 99.

She and Joe work together to test things on Jem and Mandy. Joe drives one of the children around and the other one stays with Brianna. This is important for later on. This isn’t much of foreshadowing as it is of plot development.

However, there is an element of foreshadowing in the chapter. I’ll get to that in that section of this post.

The ending pulls at my heartstrings a lot. Jem asks about Frank and whether he will get to see him. I love that Frank is constantly remembered. He was a huge part of Bree’s life growing up and a good man in that aspect. It’s clear that there is more to his story that we don’t know.

Will the chapter be used in the TV series? I have a feeling it will be. At least, the first part of it. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
