Roger and Buck learn more about the dog tags in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 96

We head back to the 18th century to find out where Roger and Buck are in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 96. The last we left them, Roger was given his father’s dog tags.

Roger wants to find out where his father is. For Roger to get the dog tags in the 1730s, it means that Jerry must have come through the stones. How else would it be possible for the dog tags to end up so far into the past?

While on the journey together, Roger shares a little more with Buck about time travel and life. More specifically, he decides now is the right time to share Buck’s true parentage, which certainly brings up a lot of questions.

It’s hard to say if this chapter will be used in the TV series, but I suspect it will be. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

I do think there’s some foreshadowing in this chapter when it comes to Roger no longer feeling pain in his throat. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 96.
