How long could the Outlander Season 7 break be?
there are 16 episodes in Outlander Season 7, but we’ll get them split in two parts. How long is the break between the two parts going to be?
There isn’t long left until Outlander Season 7 premieres. We’ll only get eight episodes of the 16-episode season. Yes, that means another Droughtlander before the last one while we wait for Outlander Season 8.
The big question for many is how long this break is going to be. Will we have to wait a year or more for the new episodes?
When will Outlander Season 7, Part 2 premiere on STARZ?
STARZ hasn’t told us how long the break is going to be. All we know is that the second half of the season will arrive in 2024. That could mean summer of 2024, but I don’t think it will.
The season has already been fully filmed. The post-production work is fully underway right now, and that is for the second half of the season as well as the first half. This will help to keep this upcoming Droughtlander to a minimum.
STARZ split Season 1 in two parts. It was also a 16-episode season, and we saw a six-month break between the two halves. Remember Jamie crouching in the window with an empty pistol for six months? We could be looking at something similar this time.
It would make sense. Six months offers STARZ enough time to get through a few more shows that it has in its back pocket (and we really want to see Men in Kilts Season 2!) and helps to space out the episodes of Outlander to keep that final Droughtlander as short as possible.
This may depend on some upcoming potential strikes. While writers are currently on strike, SAG negotiations are underway and that union could go on strike in June. Now Outlander isn’t a SAG show, but there could be a knock-on effect in the post-production process if everyone supports the union members striking. For example, we are seeing some productions halting right now because the writers are on strike despite having scripts for all episodes.
