Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There isn’t that much in the way of foreshadowing in this chapter. We see a lot of focus on things to come for the couples, but it’s more about their married lives together.

I think the biggest foreshadowing is in Rollo. It’s clear that he is getting older. Ian is going to have to say goodbye at some point, and my heart breaks for that moment.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I’m in two minds about whether this full chapter will be used in the TV series. I do expect to see Rachel and Ian to get married, and I want to see Ian mark moving on from Emily in the same way. This is just such a meaningful moment in his personal development.

It’s Dottie and Denny that I’m not certain about. I’ve not seen anything that suggests that Dottie is coming into the story. As much as I would love a double wedding, I wouldn’t be surprised if the show just gave us Rachel and Ian. After all, this is going to be more about Ian for us than Rachel as we’ve gotten to know him more.
