Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with John and Hal leaving the Frasers. Claire notes “Fraser, three; Grey, nil.” She’s referring to the three being William, Ian, and Claire, but I’ll admit that it seems a little pointless.

The conversation then moves to what Jamie will do now that he’s resigned from the militia. It looks like Washington isn’t even going to try to get Jamie back. Jamie notes that Richard Bell still has his printing press in Scotland, which he could get shipped over to start printing again. Has everyone forgotten that Jenny is now in the Colonies? She’s been forgotten about all this time.

As Jamie gets tired, he rests. Claire isn’t ready to rest yet and she can’t as William turns up with an injured Ian. Claire immediately goes for her medical bag, but she can’t pick it up because of her own injuries. Her groan wakes Jamie up.

Jamie goes to see what’s going on and freezes initially when he sees William. William says nothing. He leaves Ian in capable hands and rides away. Jamie gets Ian into bed and then goes to find Denny. After all, Denny will be needed to help with this.
