Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter certainly sets up Jane and Fanny’s storyline. They need to find somewhere safe to go, and we all know that a certain couple will take them in. Yes, it’s all about the Frasers. Claire and Jamie wouldn’t let something bad happen to the two of them, and it just so happens that Rachel is going to marry into Jamie’s family via Ian.

That is if William gets Ian to Denny in time. I think we know that’s going to happen. It would take a lot to kill of Ian at this point. If there is any foreshadowing in this chapter, I think it’s that William will repay his debts. He is also a man of his word, and that side of him is always going to win out.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I’m in two minds about whether this chapter will be used in the TV series or not. On the one hand, we need it for Jane and Fanny’s storyline. Especially if Fanny is used in the series and brought into the fold at some point. However, it could be a lot to fit into the story in Outlander Season 8. It’s because of that that I could see this chapter being skipped over.

We do need to see Rachel finding Ian and saving him. We could do with seeing William repaying that debt, something that he has learned from the Greys. But there are ways to keep that part in without Fanny and Jane if the writers do realize the two girls take up too much time in the story.
