Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 89 breakdown
William finds Jane and Fanny in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 89
We knew that William had gone off in search for Fanny and Jane. We also knew that Rachel was looking for Ian. Who would have thought their stories would combine in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 89?
Okay, Diana Gabaldon has a habit of two storylines combining. We see it a lot in the books, and only recently we saw it with Ian and William’s storylines. Well, it’s time for William to repay the favor to Ian in saving his life while Rachel helps the two girls.
This chapter gives us a look at William’s thought process. He realizes that something is wrong when he hasn’t come across the girls just yet, so he heads back and thinks carefully about what Colenzo had told him. This leads to him finally finding Jane and Fanny.
The chapter certainly sets up the plot for Fanny and Jane, especially Fanny, in the future. I don’t see much in the way of foreshadowing, though. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section of the post.
Will the chapter be used in the TV series, though? That bit I’m on the fence about, and I’ll get to why that is in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 89.
