Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 87 breakdown
Claire decides not to die in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 87
As Jamie wonders about what he will do if Claire dies, Claire makes a decision not to die in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 87. I love how she just decides to make that decision.
We all know that willpower is part of survival. If our minds decide we’re done, it’s harder for the body to pull through life or death situations. Claire will know that as a surgeon, so there is some meaning behind her decision not to die. She wants to fight for her life.
That’s a relief to Jamie. He had been wondering of what to do if Claire should die. Would he kill himself or not?
This is a great chapter for moving forward in the story. We get to see how Washington reacts to Jamie’s resignation, and we see Claire’s thoughts that pop into her mind as she focuses on surviving. I don’t see much in the way of foreshadowing and more of just plot development.
Of course, I do expect the chapter to be used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 87.
