The series is set in two timelines. We get to see how Charlotte and George met and fell in love. It’s easy to assume that royal marriages don’t involve love, but that wasn’t always the case. We see that with the 1761 part of the storyline.

The second timeline is in 1816. Princess Charlotte has died and now there is a question of the succession. Charlotte wants to see her remaining children marry and have children of their own to ensure the Hanover dynasty doesn’t come to an end.

Will Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Season 2 happen at Netflix?

Is there a chance that we’ll get to see another season of the story? That is highly unlikely, and it’s got nothing to do with Netflix.

The series was billed as a limited series from the beginning. That means it has a beginning, middle, and end. There are no plans to return to the queen’s story.

Of course, we can’t completely write off the chances of the series being renewed. This will depend on whether Netflix believes there is some value in renewing it and if Shonda Rhimes thinks there is more to the story. However, with the WGA writers strike right now, it’s highly unlikely that the plans will change. Negotiations and pitches can’t happen, which means everyone has to wait for the strike to be over for all that to happen. Netflix will likely look at other projects by then.
