Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 84 breakdown
John and William are reunited in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 84
Lord John Grey is able to reunite with family members in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 84. Of course, one of those family members has a lot of questions.
We get to see John, Ian, William, and Hal in this chapter. It’s time to see what is in store for Ian, especially as he decides to attack and kill a Native American in front of the British Army. It looks like nobody really cares too much about their Indian scouts, and that’s really not too surprising when you consider history and what we know about systemic racism today.
Meanwhile, John and William come face to face for the first time since William learned the truth. There is still some anger, but William is starting to move forward. I think it helps that Hal made it clear that William is still his nephew. William needed to hear that from someone other than John.
The chapter certainly sets up the plot for Ian getting back to Jamie and Rachel. We also have some foreshadowing of Hal bring pulled into the fold of secrets. Some of them, anyway. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.
As for adapting the chapter, I suspect we’ll see some of it. I’m not sure we’ll see all of it.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 84.
