Jamie arrests John again in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 77

We spend time with both Jamie and Claire in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 77. While Jamie deals with John, Claire deals with an injured soldier.

Poor Jamie and John. They just can’t stay away from each other. I love that we get a chance to see it all play out, though. Jamie is clearly rattled but he can’t show it. He also wants to make sure John is safe, but he can’t figure out how to make that possible. All he knows is that he has to avoid any suspicions of him working with John or he’ll be hanged as a traitor too.

Then there’s Claire, who is doing the best she can for the soldiers. One of those soldiers is a woman who needs her arm amputated. Claire can’t help but think of another woman who is supposed to be at the Battle of Monmouth.

The chapter doesn’t really foreshadow all that much. There is one mention of revoking parole, which is important for the next part of the story. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing process.

I at least expect Claire’s parts of this chapter to be used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation process.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 77.
