Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 76 breakdown
Lord John Grey ends up recaptured in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 76
For being a smart military man, Lord John Grey can make some silly mistakes. Some of them come up in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 76.
In his haste to escape, we realize that Lord John Grey doesn’t have that many provisions. He didn’t even leave with a water bottle. We just have to look back at the last time John escaped captivity. He had provisions, but they were mainly due to Denny and Dottie. John hadn’t thought about them.
Sadly, John doesn’t get to remain out of captivity in this chapter. As he tries to get to the British, he ends up facing some young Continental soldiers. They may not be the most organized bunch, but they seem to get the job done.
In a way, I think there is some foreshadowing in how the war is going to turn out and why. Sure, there is some disorder to the Continental Army, but they are passionate. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.
Will the chapter be used in the TV series? My mind is hazy on what happens next for John, but I’ll get to my thoughts on this in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 76.
