Things get out of hand in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 75

We catch up with Jamie and Claire on the day of the battle in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 75. Things quickly get out of hand.

For Jamie, it’s all about that cannon that went off in the previous chapter. Jamie and his men need to see what the damage is, and it immediately starts with a casualty. We also see the farmer side of Jamie come out in his thoughts as he rides off to another part of the land for the battle.

Back with Claire, she is trying to treat the wounded. However, there are a few drunk soldiers who aren’t behaving very well. It leads to Claire having to fire off her pistol in the air, which certainly gets the attention of everyone around her.

This chapter doesn’t foreshadow too much. It’s all in the moment, with a focus on Jamie and Claire’s work in the battle. They are both doing different things, but they are both needed.

Will we see it play out in the TV series? I have a feeling that we will. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 75.
