Lord John Grey escapes in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 73

We knew that Lord John Grey would need to find a way to escape, right? Well, that happens in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 73. It’s clear that things aren’t over for him or the Frasers, though.

What is interesting is the person who helps him escape in this chapter. After all, Jamie and Claire are now preparing for battle. Fergus and Germain are the ones tasked with watching over the man, but they leave the tent and it’s someone else who gets John out of dodge.

It’s all about Percy. We still don’t know much about him, but it’s clear that he’s not working with a few of the other questionable people in the book. This shouldn’t be too surprising when you consider that Percy’s main storyline has all been about finding Fergus.

This chapter certainly sets things up for Fergus’s future. It also foreshadows things for Richardson. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

I’m not all too sure that this whole chapter will be used, though. If we see John captive, we’ll likely see his escape. I’m still on the fence about Percy, but I’ll get to why he could be included in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 73.
