Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 68 breakdown
We see Ian and William prepare for the day in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 68
It is the day of battle in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 68. We get a chance to see how Ian and William prepare.
Of course, William isn’t going into battle. He is still angry about the orders that he’s received. He wants to be a part of this, and part of him will feel like a coward for not going in. He’s young and healthy. Why shouldn’t he fight?
Meanwhile, Ian is getting ready for the battle to come. This one is going to be without his trusted four-legged friend. Rollo is still injured and won’t be able to fight, but that doesn’t seem to be setting off any bad feelings for Ian. He’s actually excited for the fight to come.
This chapter does foreshadow something for me when it comes to the bit about Rollo. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.
I don’t expect to see this chapter used in the TV series. I’ll get to my reasons why in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 68.
