Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

There is certainly a sense of a calm before the storm in this chapter. It reminds me a lot of just before Culloden and during The Fiery Cross before Alamance. We know that something big is coming.

There isn’t that much in the way of foreshadowing, though. It’s just that calm; that knowledge that something big is coming. Everyone can feel it. It’s like the air is charged with electricity.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

Outlander certainly needs these types of chapters. We need to see how Jamie and Claire are still both emotionally and physically linked. It’s important to see that they have this love for one another on the screen. It can sometimes be hard to fit these quieter moments into the series, but they’re necessary.

I think we may see this if there is a big battle in one of the seasons to come. We often see some of these quieter moments either just before or during the big moments. Look at just before Alamance and in the middle of the fight at the house in Outlander Season 6. I hope it’s this scene that’s picked for Seasons 7 or 8 as I want the humor of the mosquitoes also thrown in.
