The man who stole Clarence turns up in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 62

As Claire thinks about what to do about John, Germain returns with news about Clarence in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 62.

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget how the characters get to where they are. We heard that Germain had lost his horse and he needed his grandfather, but then Germain ended up in the charge of John. Well, the horse situation comes up. It turns out that the horse was Clarence the Mule.

The man who took Clarence has turned up. Good old Clarence has defended himself, and we even end up with Fergus turning up to help save the day.

This is surely a chapter that needs to be used to see Fergus in a great light. There’s also a way that the Percy storyline could be worked in, and I’ll get to that in the adaptation section.

It certainly foreshadows some conversations that are going to happen. This is more of plot development, though, and I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section of the post.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 62.
