Outlander Season 7 is on the move in Canada, and not just a change of night. It’s going to move networks for the second time in the country.

When Outlander first premiered, Canadians were able to watch it on Showcase. Then the show moved to the W Network, which has been its home all the way up to Season 6. Well, things are changing. Outlander Season 7 will be on a new network.

When STARZ first came to Canada, I did suspect that there would eventually be a move. After all, a lot of STARZ shows have gone to the streamer in the country instead of a linear network getting to air it. Just look at The White PrincessPower, and The Dublin Murders.

It’s really not that surprising to see one of the top shows on the network making a move. It’s not just a new night but also a new network.

Outlander Season 7 will stream on STARZ in Canada

Yes, STARZ in Canada is going to get the seventh season. This is actually great news for Canadian fans. We used to have to wait for the show to air on the network at 8 p.m. ET/PT. It would include ad breaks, which meant an hour-long episode would take at least 90 minutes. This was annoying, especially when those in the States had already watched it at midnight on the app.

The episode would then go to the Global TV App and Stack TV the following day. There wasn’t the option of watching it early, though.

That’s changing now. Canadians will be able to stream the episodes at midnight ET on the app, just like those in the States. There won’t be any breaks in between the episode, either.

Update: Outlander wasn’t added to STARZ in Canada despite the press release telling us that would happen. We’re not sure what’s going on here. It airs Sundays on W Network and then goes to the Global TV App and Stack TV. It looks like it might drop on Stack TV on Saturdays.

Yes, it will mean getting another streaming platform. The Global TV App is free and you sign in via your cable subscriber, so you’re not adding extra money there. If you pay for Stack TV for Outlander, you can drop it and switch to STARZ instead. Both are available via Amazon Channels and STARZ is also available through Crave.

The six seasons are currently still available to stream on Netflix Canada. There are no signs that is changing just yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for any updates.
