Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 53 breakdown
William is caught in an embarrassing situation in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 53
William decides to cool off in a stream in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 53. There he comes across two women who have been looking for him.
This is an embarrassing situation for William. He knows that wading in a stream is unbecoming of an officer, but he decides to take the risk. The risk doesn’t quite pay off, but the women who find him are kind ones. They’re actually looking for him.
We get to meet Arabella-Jane again. This time, she introduces us to her sister, and I feel it’s pretty clear these two characters will play a much bigger role in William’s life than he anticipates. I just love the way they’re introduced, too.
There’s also some foreshadowing about Captain Harkness. I’ll get to my thoughts on that matter in the foreshadowing section.
What about using this in the adaptation? I hope it is because I want to see Frances. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
