Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

I get a sense that this chapter is foreshadowing some of the things that Claire will see in battle. She has seen horrible things in war. World War II and Prestonpans brought up some awful things, but she wasn’t there for Culloden. She may not really understand just everything she’s going to see as the next set of battles come. Her brain is trying to process and get her ready.

Other than that, this chapter is more about relief. Claire has relief from traveling and she has relief of Jamie being by her side again.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I don’t think this chapter will be used in Outlander. We have already seen how the Second World War affected Claire. We’ve had a chance to see her PTSD, so we know that it exists. There’s no need to repeat this.

There isn’t going to be a lot of time. Some of the quieter moments or things that have already been explained will need to be skipped over. There are better quiet moments between Claire and Jamie to include, so we don’t necessarily need this one.
