Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

I think the foreshadowing in this chapter is all about Denys and Captain Richardson. Why would Denys tell William not to trust Richardson? What does Denys know? It’s clear that Denys keeps an ear to the ground about everything, and he could know more than he lets on.

I think there’s a sense in this chapter that Denys’s story isn’t over yet. He’s going to show up again, especially with Claire mentioning him in the previous chapter.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I have a feeling that a lot of the Captain Richardson stuff is either going to be skipped over or condensed considerably to fit into Outlander Season 7 and Season 8. While there is a bigger plot to come, I just don’t see the series having the time to tell the full story. Even if there was some time, I’m not sure we’ll see much of Denys Randall, except maybe a mention of him in one episode.

The show needs to figure out how to condense some of these storylines, and that means skipping some completely. If they don’t service the main plot for Claire and Jamie and they don’t work for Roger and Bree’s story, I doubt we’ll spend a lot of time on them.
