William comes across Denys in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 50

Just as we get a mention of Denys Randall in the previous chapter, he pops up again in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 50. William has to deal with him, his questions, and his knowledge of what’s going on.

I do think this chapter makes it clear that Denys knows more than he lets on. This is a man who is smart, but he’s not sadistic like his “father.” That’s probably because he’s not Black Jack Randall’s biological son and never even knew the man.

That doesn’t mean William likes him. However, William is intrigued, and I can’t blame him for that.

This chapter offers us a chance to remember what happened before we went to 1980 for a while. We also get a chance to see just how much has happened since we last saw Wiliam. There isn’t too much in the way of plot development or foreshadowing in the chapter, though.

As for whether it will be used in the TV show or not, I’m not too certain. Part of me doesn’t think it will. I wonder if anything with Denys will be included, even though I would like to see it.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 50.
