With Claire and Jamie reunited, it’s time to focus on the upcoming battles in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 49. Well, more like the idea of being able to change things.

This is a relatively short chapter. It starts off with a focus of things to come, and ends up with Claire thinking about the past. Yet, in the thoughts of the past, there are mentions of things that could happen in the future. After all, we’ve already met one of the characters mentioned.

This chapter is certainly more about foreshadowing and potential plot development rather than anything else. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.

What about using this chapter in the TV series? I have my doubts about everything that could be used, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section. To be honest, I don’t see it being used as it doesn’t really need to be for the sake of the rest of the plot.
