Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter certainly foreshadows disappointment. We know that the Quakers are mostly on the side of the Crown. This is why it’s important for Denny to share the side that he has chosen. This is all getting set up as we read this chapter because Denny knows which side the Quakers are actually on.

There’s also a little bit of foreshadowing in Henry’s storyline with Mercy. We have some foreshadowing of Ian and Rachel together and even their wedding. It’s only a small amount, but it’s clear that this is where it’s all leading to.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I would love to see this chapter used in the TV series. Part of me thinks it will be. We know that Rachel and Denny are going to be in Outlander Season 7, and we know that Ian and Rachel’s storyline is important. It makes sense to see them marry. I’m not sure we’ll see it in the seventh season, though.

This is all going to depend on how the seventh and eighth books are combined. We know some of Book 8 is going to be used in Outlander Season 7 for Bree and Roger’s storyline. What about using some of it for Ian’s storyline as we see Ian and Rachel’s story pushed forward?

What we don’t know is if Dottie is going to be included. This could affect things for some of the chapters. I want Dottie included as she and Denny are great together, but is there enough time for everyone when there are only 26 episodes left to tell the full story?
