Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Joe getting ready for an easy night. He’s looking forward to his dinner and his beers, but then he sees a letter from Brianna. That wouldn’t usually be worrying, but the stamp on the envelope is an American stamp and not a British one. That tells him Bree is in America.

He hopes that Bree and Roger have taken the children to Disney. That has happened, but Joe also receives a key to a safety deposit box. He knows immediately that something is wrong.

It all gets worse for him. The letter is written singularly, which means Roger isn’t around. The letter doesn’t say that Roger has left Bree, so Joe has a feeling that it means Roger is missing. Where is he? What’s going on?

To make matters worse, Bree says that she’s taking the children to visit their grandparents, and Joe knows what that means. He knows all about time travel, so he knows that Bree is taking the children through the stones. Why would she do something like that?

I love that Bree has Joe to tell the story to, and I have a feeling the box has more information for him. Getting this from his POV is perfect. We get that sense of danger through him.
