Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The chapter doesn’t really foreshadow too much. It brings up the prophecy, but I just can’t see how that is foreshadowing anything at this point. After all, anyone who sees Bree now would know that she has two children. The last of the Lovat line hasn’t come yet. There are more to come.

I guess there’s a bit of foreshadowing in that Bree will end up back in the past. Jamie will protect his daughter. We’ve always known that, and Bree knows it now even without Frank’s letter.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

The letter itself doesn’t really do much for the overall story. However, I love its inclusion. I love seeing Frank’s love for Bree, and I want to know everything that Frank knew. The letter itself doesn’t say anything that we couldn’t have already worked out for ourselves.

I would love to see this used in the TV series. I want to know if this is the letter Frank was writing in Outlander Season 4. I also want to see the prophecy come back up since it was such a big deal for Geillis. However, it’s worth noting that the prophecy in the series was changed to make note of the 200-year-old baby, connecting directly to Brianna. I’d like to see how the letter could be included with that fact.
