Outlander Season 7 is not coming to STARZ in March 2023
Can you believe we’re reaching the year mark since the Outlander Season 6 premiere? Sadly, STARZ isn’t managing an Outlander Season 7 premiere yet.
On March 6, 2022, Outlander Season 6 premiered. As Season 7 starting filming, we were told a late 2022/early 2023 release date was possible, and that led to the hope that we’d see Outlander Season 7 around March 2023.
There is some bad news. The early 2023 release date was an overestimation by Matt B. Roberts and Maril Davis. The show isn’t arriving this month, but we do have a few exciting things to share.
When will Outlander Season 7 premiere on STARZ?
The bad news is we’re not getting the show in the winter or the spring of this year. Instead, we need to wait until summer 2023, and even then there isn’t a confirmed month for that. Depending on who you talk to, summer can start as early as June 1, but personally, I go by the seasonal calendar with June 21 as the first day of summer.
We could get the show any time between June and September. We’ll have to wait until closer to the time for an exact release date.
Until then, we have the opening credits to keep us entertained. This time, the song is performed by Sinéad O’Connor. Yes, this is going to bring some mixed opinions, but this is an opening I enjoy.
The best news is that filming of the season has finished. This is something Sam Heughan did share toward the end of 2022. He said February or March of this year, and then there were other rumors that filming would continue until April or May. With filming complete, it’s time for post-production, which can take as long as filming considering the amount of graphics that are needed for a show like this.
There is a pinch that we could get the season in one long run. I still think that STARZ will split up the season as I haven’t seen 16 episodes run in one long run on STARZ before. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen, though.
