Roger learns about a burned down croft in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 39

Roger gets back to the croft after talking to McEwan in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 39. It’s time for him to learn a little more about things that happened recently.

Roger’s scar comes up again in this chapter. It’s all linked to the burned down croft that isn’t too far from the MacLarens. Roger makes it clear that he didn’t go inside, and it’s clear that the MacLarens are superstitious people. It’s not surprising that Roger’s scar comes up when you consider the story of the croft and the way the MacLarens act.

We certainly get some foreshadowing in this chapter when it comes to the croft that has been burned down. It’s clear that there is another time traveler, and we all know who that time traveler is. I’ll get to this in the foreshadowing section.

Will we see the chapter used in the TV series? I certainly expect so. After all, we know a certain red-headed time traveler is going to show back up during Outlander Season 7. I’ll get to my thoughts on this in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 39.
