Bree tries to make Lallybroch safe in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 36

Brianna needs to make her home safe in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 36. That isn’t going to happen right away, though.

This is another very short chapter, and it doesn’t do much to push the plot forward. There’s not even any real foreshadowing in the chapter, either. At least, none that really stands out to me.

The chapter mostly focuses on Bree making sure that everything is safe for her and her children. She isn’t going to let Jem and Mandy back at Lallybroch when there’s still a chance that Rob Cameron could come back.

She’s already taken some steps to keep them protected. This chapter focuses on how life doesn’t quite go the way planned all the time. There is an issue with the locksmith, which means Bree is still at risk for a little while longer.

I do expect to see this chapter used in the TV series. It doesn’t make sense for it not to be used, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 36.
