Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 33 breakdown
Roger and Brian ride out to spread the word in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 33
Roger meets Ian Murray’s father in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 33. He’s riding around the crofts with Brian to spread word about Jem and Rob Cameron.
I adore this chapter as we see Roger and Brian together. One thing that I love is that Brian helps Roger. He could have easily turned his back, but we get a sense of who Brian is and where Jamie and Jenny get their willingness to do what’s right from. Brian is going to help Roger find his son.
We know now that it’s all in vain. Jem was still in the 1980s, but Roger doesn’t know this. He gets a sense of ease when he’s with Brian because of how helpful Brian is. And we get to learn a little more about the connections in the area.
There is certainly some foreshadowing in this chapter, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section. I also fully expect to see this chapter used in the TV series as early as Outlander Season 7. I’ll get to that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 33.
