Outlander Book Club: Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 31 breakdown
Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
I don’t notice foreshadowing in this chapter. There is a moment that makes us think, though. Roger decides to tell Brian about the gold in North Carolina and Brian suggests that once Rob got what he needed, he killed Jem. Roger doesn’t think that happened, but it made me wonder if Rob would be capable of that. How far would he go?
Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter
I want to see this chapter play out in the TV series, and I suspect it will. After all, we know Andrew Whipp is returning as Brian Fraser in Outlander Season 7, which suggests that the chapter will be used.
This whole section of the book isn’t actually that long, and there isn’t that much drama for Roger and Bree in the seventh book of the story. It makes sense to combine it all into Season 7. I’ve said this a few times, and I still think that way. It all fits, and it’s all important for Roger and Bree’s character development.
