Like with previous seasons, STARZ has released the opening credits for Outlander Season 7. There are some changes, including the singer.
Each season of Outlander has seen a change to the opening credits. This isn’t just about the clips used as the opening theme plays. The opening theme has been adapted to suit the storylines and themes from the season.
Outlander Season 7 is no different. STARZ has released the opening credits as a Valentine’s Day gift for Sassenachs around the world. There is someone new singing the credits this year, although it’s not clear if it’s only going to be for the premiere episode or if this is the case for the rest of the season.
There are changes mid-season sometimes. Just look at how Season 2 changed the theme when moving from France back to Scotland, and look at the Jamaican sounds for the last few episodes of Season 3. Then there was the addition of the original Skye Boat Song in Season 6.
Sinéad O’Connor is singing in the Season 7 credits.
Outlander Season 7 opening credits
Take a look at the opening credits below:
There are a few clips clearly from the seventh season. Claire and Jamie will reunite at some point. It’s not that we didn’t expect that, but the teaser trailer saw her on the gallows. When will Jamie get to her and how will all that go down?
We also get clips of the Frasers and MacKenzies in a boat, and there are clips of Bree and Roger on a beach somewhere. We also can’t overlook the use of the original American flag, making it very clear that the Revolutionary War has begun.
The credits are likely from the premiere episode. Mark Lewis Jones and Chris Larkin are named in the credits, and we know they were both in Wilmington with Claire when she was imprisoned at the end of Season 6.
