Just the Outlander chapter

The chapter starts with Roger and Buck waking up at Craigh na Dun at some point in the past. Roger looks around and sees that the greenery is right for it to be in the past and not just being kicked out of the stones like happened his very first time.

However, the focus can’t be on finding Jem right away. Buck is complaining of chest pains and Roger fears he is having a heart attack. He starts to wonder if he’d even be born if Buck dies in the wrong time period. Wasn’t Morag’s baby on the ship Roger’s ancestor? Doesn’t that mean the timeline there is still intact?

What I will say is that I love this actually comes up this time. It’s what I expected from Claire when she wanted Jamie to give Black Jack Randall one year to make sure Frank would live. What’s to say Claire would be at the stones to accidentally fall through them?

Back to Roger and Buck. When Buck recovers, the focus returns to finding Jem. Roger makes a note that he’d taken Jem to Craigh na Dun a few times to see where it was in relation to Lallybroch. He also notes that Rob Cameron may have gone straight to Inverness. If Jem got away, he’d likely go to Lallybroch.

So, Buck heads to Inverness, which is where he’s also heard Morag went when she returned, and Roger heads to Lallybroch. Even if Jem isn’t there, Roger believes Jenny and her children will help to find his son.
