Roger and Buck make it through the stones in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 27

We catch up with Buck and Roger in the past in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 27. This is when we get our first real glimpse at the dangers of time travel.

Up to this point, we’ve heard that not all people who go through the stones make it through safely. We haven’t seen when happens to people, though. Buck starts showing signs of a problem after landing at the bottom of Craigh na Dun sometime in the past.

Once Buck is okay, it’s time to focus on finding Jem. The two men split up, with an agreement to meet six days later. What could happen in that time?

This chapter has a little bit of foreshadowing in Buck’s story with his chest pains. The rest of the chapter is more about plot development as Roger tries to figure out where Jem is.

I fully expect this chapter to be used in the TV series. After all, we know certain characters have been cast, and we’re ready to see how this part of the story is going to be used in Outlander Season 7.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 27.
