We finally head back to Brianna in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 26

We start the second part of Outlander Book 8 in the 1980s. It’s time to see what Brianna will do now that she’s faced with Rob Cameron.

The chapter initially starts with information we already knew from the seventh book. We see Roger and Buck heading through the stones, and we see Jem at the hydroelectric tunnel. Diana Gabaldon often includes snippets from previous books to remind us of storylines but also to make it possible for someone to pick up say the eighth book without knowing anything from the first seven.

The bulk of the chapter is at Lallybroch, though. We left Brianna dealing with Rob Cameron, and now we pick up with where that storyline left us off. What will she do to protect herself and her children?

I certainly notice some foreshadowing in this chapter when it comes to Jemmy and Mandy. I’ll get to that in the foreshadowing section.

Will it be used in the TV series? I suspect that we’ll see a lot of this play out in Outlander Season 7, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section of the post.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 26.
