Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

I think we get some plot development here. Jamie has realized that he doesn’t blame Claire for marrying John. He can’t. Claire had to do this to protect herself, and they both thought that Jamie was dead.

However, that doesn’t mean he’s fully forgiven John. I think that betrayal runs deeper because of what Jamie went through with Black Jack Randall. The problem is John doesn’t know the full truth. I guess the foreshadowing here is that Claire will understand Jamie’s feelings about all of it. She does know everything.

Adapting the Written in My Own Heart’s Blood chapter

I really want to see Mrs. Hardman making the concoction and using it on Jamie in the TV series. I find this moment so funny, and I do think there will be some time. It’s not like the show has to spend a lot of time with Jamie being at the house. It gives him time to think about Claire, and we could see him voice those thoughts to Chastity or even Mrs. Hardman.

I just think we need to see the way people would create “medicine” in the past. It’s something that the series has looked at in the past, with Claire looking on in horror at times. Well, Claire isn’t around to stop anyone from making these weird mixtures, and we just get the entertainment.
