William saves a prostitute from some awful men in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 18

We’re back with William in Outlander Book 8, Chapter 18. He ends up with a prostitute, but it’s not something he initially plans.

As William is still trying to figure out who he is, we get to see that his personality continues to be that of a mixture of Jamie and Lord John Grey. This is important for us as readers. Of course, he’s not going to change who he is, but sometimes it can seem it in his anger.

This chapter is also important as we see how he cares about other people. He doesn’t look down on a prostitute because of her job. Instead, he wants to protect her, and I think it certainly foreshadows more of his journey to come. I’ll get to my thoughts in the foreshadowing section.

What I’m not sure about is whether this chapter will be used in the TV series. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood Chapter 18.
